Our story

Extract from the Dacquoise chronicle of the Réveil des Landes of December 30, 1875:

“Uza was once one of the most impoverished corners of this part of our department, which earned it its name. Today, under the magical influence of the de Lur Saluces family, strongly supported by the intelligent assistance of Mr. Desmoulins, a rapid and wonderful transformation has taken place.

What was once a hamlet struggling to accommodate many workers from the oldest foundry in the department has become, first a parish, then a municipality, and finally a commercial center whose fairs, powerfully encouraged, are now among the most significant in the country […]

It is as if a fairy had passed through; this fairy is a family whose benevolence is proverbial…”.

Our ambition

Today, the Uza estate focuses on three key areas: energizing the local community, fostering human connections, and preserving the Landes environment.

Energizing the local community, because we want to concretely demonstrate our commitment to the village of Uza and the Landes department. To achieve this, we develop high-value local activities aimed at bringing life and vitality to Uza, while also integrating harmoniously into the local economic fabric.

Fostering human connections, because we believe in looking beyond profit. We are committed to ensuring that every employee, whether seasonal or permanent, feels respected and supported. For instance, we offer free accommodation to seasonal workers.

Preserving the Landes environment, as we want future generations to enjoy this exceptional nature as we do. We are therefore working on developing sustainable and environmentally friendly practices, as well as promoting the biodiversity of Lake Uza.
